Glasto 2024 FAQs

05 February 24

I am completely new and want to work at Glastonbury, what do I need to do?
Head to the staff portal and register to work with us. When registering, input your basic details and wait for an email containing your password (you can change this to something more memorable later). Use this password in the ‘login’ section and fill out your details. Once you have input your details and our team has accepted your profile, we will send you a welcome email and you’re good to go!

I have registered on Tracsis Events staff portal, how do I book Glastonbury shifts?
Phone lines will open for Glastonbury calls at 10am on Tuesday 20th February. Simply call 01676 549001 on booking day to reserve your call-back slot for shifts at Glastonbury. Phone lines will be incredibly busy so please keep trying if you don’t get through on the first try.

Do I need to be 18 to work at this event?
Yes, you must be 18 or over to work for Tracsis Events.

I worked at Glastonbury in 2023/I am a Priority staff member, do I get to book in advance?
Yes, if you worked with us at Glastonbury in 2023 or worked 5+ events for us over the previous year we allow you to book in a day earlier than other staff.

We have reserved a number of spaces that can be claimed on this day. These will be first come first served and capped to ensure we have plenty to offer staff on general booking day. Once we reach the cap, we will close the list for the day, but please do call back the next day to book on, we love to see familiar faces each year.

How does the call-back system work?
Due to the high volume of calls we receive on booking day we don’t book anyone into shifts on the first phone call.

When you phone in on booking day, you will reserve your place in the queue and will be given a time slot for one of our team to call you back to book you into shifts. Make sure you have your phone nearby when your time slot is approaching, we recommend setting an alarm.

What will the call-back be about?
When we call you back, we will go through the shift options we have for you to choose from. This includes which day off over the festival you would prefer to have.

We reserve the shifts you choose over the phone and confirm all the other details with you including: deposit due date, catering opt in/out, if you’re booking a friend etc.

Can I book a friend to work with me?
Yes, you can. If you are booking for a friend, they must have a completed profile when you book them in, so please make sure they have registered with us. We will always try to book you into the same area and same shift pattern.

Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes. The amount for this year’s deposit will be £400. We will give you a date by which this will need to be paid, roughly ten days after booking. This needs to be paid via bank transfer and unfortunately, if the deposit is not received on time, we will have to reallocate your shifts to someone else. We will send you a reminder via text before this happens. The deposit is returned in full after the festival, separately to your wages.

What happens to my deposit if I need to cancel my shifts?
If you need to cancel your shifts, you will receive the full amount of your deposit back – provided you let us know in advance of the festival. As always, please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel, so that we can make sure someone else has the opportunity to take your place.

How many shifts do I have to work?
This is a paid work opportunity, not a volunteer work-for-entry system. All our shifts are 13 hours, either day shifts or night shifts, and typically staff will work an average of 6 shifts. Everyone working for us will have at least one day off (either Friday, Saturday or Sunday) to go in and experience what Glastonbury has to offer, as well as any exploring that can be done after work.

What is your rate of pay?
Our pay rates are age dependant. Anyone aged 18-20 will be paid £12.22 per hour. Anyone aged 21 and above will be paid £12.82 per hour. Rates are inclusive of holiday pay.

What happens once I’m booked in?
Once you are booked in, our team will send you an email confirming the shifts that you have been booked into, as well as some other important information like the deadline for your deposit payment and how to pay it.

Once your deposit is paid your shifts are confirmed and you will receive a link to complete a right to work check. This MUST be completed in order for you to work at the event. Once that is complete, you don’t need to do anything for a while.

We will send a final confirmation along with a ‘working at Glastonbury’ welcome pack containing everything you’ll need to know whilst working with Tracsis Events at the event (e.g. where to go, what to bring, where to park).

Hopefully then you’ll have everything you need before you set off for the south-west!

What facilities will be available for staff onsite?
We have our own private campsite at Glastonbury for our staff. The campsite has:

  • Hot showers

  • A catering tent serving breakfast and dinner each day (see info below)

  • Access to drinking water 24/7

  • A device/phone charging station

  • 24 hour admin and security teams

  • Tea, coffee and general welfare area

  • Fire pit and social area

We’re also located opposite a pedestrian gate into the festival, with stages/food vendors/stalls a 5-10 minute walk away, for anything else you need.

What is the situation with the catering at Glastonbury?
We have our own private catering contractor located on our campsite and we operate an opt-in system during your shift booking, so we will ask you if you’d like to have catering when we book you in for your shifts.

We will be using a new catering team this year so the process and cost may differ slightly from previous years. You can check them out online – Ebbie’s Kitchen: https://ebbieskitchen.co.uk/

If you choose to opt-in, a cost of £95 will be deducted from your wages after the event, so you don’t have to pay anything up front.

If you choose to opt-out you will be responsible for providing your own meals during your time onsite. Food inside the festival can be expensive and inaccessible during shift times so please ensure you are well prepared.

What do I need to bring with me?
As a start, you will need to bring: a tent, sleeping bag/duvet, food for the one meal a day that catering does not cover OR for the duration of the event if you have opted out of catering, waterproof coat and trousers, decent footwear, a towel, and a reusable water bottle. We also recommend toilet roll, reusable mug, torch or light for inside your tent, lots of socks, sunglasses and hat, flip flops for the showers. This, plus lots more, will be included in the ‘working at Glastonbury’ welcome pack you receive nearer the time of the event.
