I am completely new and want to work for CTM, what do I need to do?
Head to staff portal and register to work with us. When registering, input your basic details and wait for an email containing your password (you can change this to something more memorable later). Use this password in the ‘login’ section and fill out your details. Once you have input your details and our team have accepted your profile, we will send you a welcome email and you’re good to go!
I have registered on CTM’s staff portal, how do I book Glastonbury shifts?
CTM phone lines will open for Glastonbury calls at 10am on Tuesday 14th February. Simply call 01676 549001 on booking day to reserve your call-back slot for shifts at Glastonbury. Please be aware that you must be over 18 to work at festivals with CTM, this includes Glastonbury.
I worked at Glastonbury in 2022/I am a Priority staff member, can I book onto shifts on Monday 13th?
Yes. You can call from 10am on Monday 13th to book your place.
If you worked at the festival with us in 2022, we have reserved a number of spaces for you to book on a day early. These will be first come first served and capped to ensure we have plenty to offer staff on general booking day. Once we reach the cap, we will close the list for the day, but please do call back the next day to book on, we love to see familiar faces each year.
Priority staff (those who worked 5+ events with CTM in 2022), will have the usual early access to book on the day before. Please call on Monday 13th to book on Priority.
How does the call-back system work?
Due to the high volume of calls we receive on booking day, so that we can answer everyone’s call, we don’t book anyone into shifts on the first phone call. When you phone in on booking day, you will reserve your place in the queue and will be given a time slot for one of our team to call you back to book you into shifts. Make sure you have your phone nearby when your time slot is approaching, we recommend setting an alarm.
Can I book a friend to work with me?
Yes, you can. If you are booking for a friend, they must have a completed CTM profile when you book them in, so please make sure they have registered with us.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes. This year’s deposit is £400 and will need to be paid via bank transfer. We will give you a date by which this will need to be paid and unfortunately, if the deposit is not received on time, we will have to reallocate your shifts to someone else. We will send you a reminder via text before this happens. The deposit is returned in full after the festival, separately to your wages.
What happens to my deposit if I need to cancel my shifts?
If you need to cancel your shifts, you will receive the full amount of your deposit back – provided that you let us know in advance of the festival. As always, please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel, so that we can make sure someone else has the opportunity to take your place.
How many shifts do I have to work?
This is a paid work opportunity, not a work-for-entry system, our shifts are paid hourly at a rate of £12.22 for workers aged 22 and over or £11.68 for anyone under 22 (these rates include holiday pay). All of our shifts are 13 hours, either day shifts or night shifts, and typically staff will work an average of 6 shifts. Everyone working for us will have at least one day off (either Friday, Saturday or Sunday) to go in and experience what Glastonbury has to offer, as well as any daily exploring that can be done after work.
What happens once I’m booked in?
Once you are booked into shifts, our team will send you an email confirming the shifts that you have been booked into, as well as some other important information like the deadline for your deposit payment and how to pay it. Once your deposit is paid, your shifts are confirmed, and you don’t need to do anything for a while.
Closer to the time, we will send you an arrival survey asking for a few details like what day you’ll be getting there. We will email this to you, but we’ll also send a text to remind you to complete it.
Lastly, we will send a final confirmation along with a ‘working at Glastonbury’ welcome pack containing everything you’ll need to know whilst working with CTM at the event (e.g. where to go, what to bring, where to park).
Hopefully then you’ll have everything you need before you set off for the south-west!
What facilities will be available for staff onsite?
We have our own private campsite at Glastonbury just for our staff. The campsite has:
Hot water shower units
A catering tent serving breakfast, lunch and dinner each day (see info below)
Access to drinking water 24/7
A device/phone charging station
24 hour admin and security teams
Tea, coffee and general welfare area
Fire pit and social area
We’re also only a 10-15 minute walk from the festival, for anything else you need.
What is the situation with the catering at Glastonbury?
We have our own private catering contractor with a large marquee area, located on our campsite. We operate an opt-in system during your shift booking, so we will ask you if you’d like to have catering whilst staying onsite. If you choose to opt-in, the total will be £70 and will be deducted from your wages after the event, so you don’t have to pay anything up front. Catering consists of two hot meals each day – breakfast and dinner, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. It starts from dinner on Monday 19th through to breakfast on Monday 26th. This works out at £5 per meal, with the remaining cost subsidised by CTM. You can also choose to swap your breakfast token for a packed lunch if you’d prefer. Be sure to mention any dietary requirements when booking your shifts, so that we can accommodate you as best as we can.
If you choose to opt-out, you can buy individual meals from the caterer on the campsite and pay with cash, however the cost will be more than our opt-in process and there will be limited meals available to ensure that there are enough meals for those who have opted-in.
What do I need to bring with me?
As a start, you will need to bring: a tent, sleeping bag/duvet, food for the one meal a day that catering does not cover OR for the duration of the event if you have opted out of catering, waterproof coat and trousers, decent footwear, a towel and a reusable water bottle. We also recommend: toilet roll, reusable mug, torch or light for inside your tent, lots of socks, sunglasses and hat, flip flops for the showers. This, plus lots more, will be included in the ‘working at Glastonbury’ welcome pack you receive nearer the time of the event.
