iBlocks to showcase ‘market ready’ Pay As You Go solution at Transport Ticketing Global
24 June 22
iBlocks will showcase its unique Pay As You Go ( PAYG) product at the Transport Ticketing Global event next week. iBlocks operates the only PAYG ticketing service on the UK railway network outside of London, a ‘token agnostic’ solution able to provide the benefits of PAYG through an ITSO smartcard, bar code or bank card.
The iBlocks stand in London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre will feature the latest prototype of the company’s seamless PAYG product. iBlocks’ approach to ticketing mirrors innovations in modern retailing such as Tesco and Sainsbury with their ‘pick & go’ seamless shopping experience currently being piloted not far from Olympia in Holborn. iBlocks has had this capability for some time, making it relatively easy for the company to bring this new consumer trend to the rail industry. See Chris Barnes Blog.
iBlocks’ product is already tailored to deliver against the Department for Transport’s and Great British Railways smart ticketing strategy and has been designed to align with the Williams Shapps Rail Review in helping to deliver the key objectives set.
The company has also issued a white paper outlining its views on how the industry can cost effectively modernise itself over the next 3-5 years. The paper sets out the many benefits that modernisation can bring to both customers and the industry, not least in terms of credible annual cost savings, increased ridership and revenue, and a modern customer experience, all of which amount to a £71m benefit per annum.
Transport Ticketing Global takes place on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th June 2022.
